Rotary Club Of Forest Grove Inducts Three New Members
Posted By admin
The Rotary Club of Forest Grove is happy to welcome the newest three members to the club: Darryl Carnley, Gwen Hullinger and Andrew Van Dyke.
The trio was inducted during the club’s Satellite Club meeting on Oct. 15. All three members are unique in that they have previous experience with the club and have been active with the club’s activities before joining Rotary.
Darryl Carnley is the founder of My360Project; an organization dedicated to providing shoes to underprivileged children in Latin America and providing jobs to individuals in those countries building the shoes. The organization helps bring sustainable jobs to those areas of need that positively impact the lives of people.
Darryl became acquainted with our club two years ago when he worked with the Yakos family on a My360Project shoe-delivery service trip to Mexico.
Darryl has extensive experience working with non-profit organizations, overseeing programs that emphasize team building, resource development, partnership alliance and donor fundraising.
Darryl and his wife of 32 years, Pauline, currently reside in the Phoenix, Arizona area after living in Alaska for over 40 years. The couple has three sons.
Gwen Hullinger is in her second year as an art teacher at Forest Grove High School and has been teaching at the high school level for 21 years. She also has a side business doing professional photography.
Gwen became acquainted with our club through her work to help develop Forest Grove High School’s Food Pantry last year. The club has become an ardent supporter of the Food Pantry, which received a jump-start last year with contributions through our Hope For The Holidays program. In addition to her work with the Food Pantry, Gwen is also serving as the faculty advisor for the school’s Interact program.
When not teaching or taking photos, Gwen enjoys spending time with her husband, John, and their three kids, three cats and two dogs. She considers herself an “extroverted introvert” that enjoys getting sucked into shows on Netflix or Amazon Prime.
Andrew Van Dyke is very familiar to club members as the son of Pete and Parri Van Dyke. Andrew grew up in Forest Grove, attending Harvey Clark Elementary and graduating with honors from Forest Grove High School in 2015. While in high school, Andrew took part in the Viking House program.
Andrew went on to attend Western Oregon University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business with a finance concentration in 2019. He was a four-year member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. Andrew currently works alongside his dad at Van Dyke Appliance and is excited to be a fourth-generation owner of the local family business.
Andrew enjoys hunting, woodworking and spending time with family and friends. He is excited to join Rotary because he is passionate about being able to help people and volunteer in the local community.
Membership in the Rotary Club of Forest Grove is open to all individuals who have a passion for service and want to make a difference in the Forest Grove and surrounding communities. More information on how to join our club is available on our website, fgrotary.org.
