If you didn’t make it to this week’s Rotary Club of Forest Grove meeting, below is an overview of what you missed.

Announcements
Crab Feed – Save The Date!:
Mark your calendars for our annual Crab Feed, which will take place on Wed., Mar. 27 at the Forest Grove Senior Center. This will be an evening dinner, so no noon club meeting that day. More details to come as we get closer to the date.

Hope For the Holidays: It is time to collect funds for our annual Hope For The Holidays service project. Pledge cards will be available at our meetings all through November. You can also give donations directly or by credit card through Ken Cunningham. Help our club make the holiday season just a little bit brighter for local needy families!

Satellite Club Fundraiser: Watch for more details soon on a fundraiser that the Satellite Club is doing over the next month. They will be selling holiday centerpieces.

Rotary Foundation Update: To date, club members have contributed a total of $2,200 towards The Rotary Foundation and $665 towards PolioPlus. We have a good start on reaching our club goals of $9,000 for TRF giving and $1,500 towards PolioPlus giving. Thank you!

Citations Have Been Received!: District 5100 Assistant Governor David Noyes visited our club to present a pair of citations. David presented the 2017-18 Rotary Citation to past president Tom Raabe in recognition of our club meeting the criteria for the citation during his year. David also presented to past Interact advisor Geoff Faris the 2017-18 Rotary Citation for the Forest Grove HS Interact Club. In addition, David presented an award to club in recognition of our continued support of Polio Plus.

Wednesday’s Program: OHSU Tuality Healthcare
Two administrators from OHSU Tuality Healthcare came to speak to Rotarians about their investments in healthcare in the Forest Grove and surrounding areas. Steve Krautscheid, Vice President – Ancillary Services and Kim Leathley, Director of Strategy & Transitions were our guests.

The Forest Grove Healthcare district is working to build for the future. OHSU Tuality Healthcare has committed to over $18 million dollars investment in the area and has the following priorities: To increase primary care access, to continue to build women and children’s services, to enhance geriatric psychiatry, to expand and enhance surgical services and to continue to support the Forest Grove healthcare district and partnerships.

There is a primary care shortage across the nation and Forest Grove is not immune to this issue. OHSU Tuality healthcare plans to expand access to primary care by adding more physicians in the area and also to train new physicians in partnership with OHSU’s medical training programs. Emergency care in Forest Grove has transitioned to Urgent Care. This was done through a careful analysis of usage and in an attempt to bring the right care, to the right place, at the right price.

OHSU Tuality is committed to helping ensure Forest Grove continues to be a special and unique place through the delivery of accessible, affordable healthcare.
