Announcements
No Place Like Dark For The Holidays: We will “be dark” on Wed., Dec. 26. We will meet again on Wed., Jan. 2, at Pacific University.
Hope for the Holidays: Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our annual Hope for the Holidays service project. We have raised over $10,000 to help make and helped 21 families have a better holiday. Thank you to the members of our Hope for the Holidays Committee who brought it all together: Claudia Yakos, Jim Crisp, Sharon Olmstead and Virginia Ohler. Special thank you to our partners in this project: Forest Grove School District, West Tuality Habitat for Humanity, Rotary District 5100 and Walmart.

Youth Citizens of the Month: Congratulations to our latest Youth Citizens of the Month from Gaston Jr./Sr. High School, Francesca Douglas and Abigail Oliver. We will have more on these two outstanding students soon on the Forest Grove Rotary website.
Rotary Foundation Update: To date, club members have contributed a total of $2,990 towards The Rotary Foundation and $1,090 towards PolioPlus. We are a third of the way towards reaching our club goals of $9,000 for TRF giving and $1,500 towards PolioPlus giving. Thank you!
Be The Inspiration Award: This week’s Be The Inspiration award winner is Richard Kidd as presented by Jim Crisp. Congratulations Richard!
Peace Village: Our Rotary club is partnering with the Daybreak Club to put together a Peace Village camp this summer for local youth. An initial planning meeting is scheduled for Tues., Jan. 15, 7 p.m., at the Forest Grove City Auditorium. Anyone interested in being part of this project is welcome to attend. Wednesday’s Program: Forest Grove High School Music Department
In the spirit of the season, we were treated to the exceptional music of the Forest Grove High School music program, directed at the meeting by Barry Berdahl and Stewart Schlazer. Joining us was members of the school’s band, the De Capo choir and a string ensemble from the orchestra. The meeting was also our annual joint meeting with the Daybreak Club and we enjoyed their fellowship!
